The Specialized Information Service (FID) as a Partner for Middle East, North Africa and Islamic Studies
The lecture presents how the Specialized Information Service (FID) Middle East, North Africa and Islamic Studies can support you with your academic work.
The FID is funded by the DFG and has been maintained by the University and State Library Saxony-Anhalt since 2016. It offers nationwide quick access to literature from the countries and preferably in the languages of the MENA region that is otherwise difficult to obtain.
A main focus of the presentation are the printed and digital holdings of the FID and how you can research, use and extend them. In addition, the most important research-related services offered by the FID will be introduced. This includes, for example, support for research data management and the open access repository MENAdoc, which already makes over 15,000 works freely available and is open for your academic publications.
The lecture is aimed at academic staff and students, preferably with a focus on Oriental and Islamic Studies.
